“How to read the (Hebrew) Bible in the Biotechnofeudal Age?”
Most Bible readers do not know that their Bible reading habits go back a couple of centuries. They also do not usually consider their social location as significant for interpreting biblical texts. This talk will explain why so many people take for granted their general obliviousness to method and context and why they might even resist learning about their unconsciously held hermeneutical assumptions. A concrete example from the Bible will illustrate that an expansion of our exegetical horizons is much needed during this moment in time called the biotechnofeudal age.

Campus Visits

We understand that taking the next step toward obtaining a graduate theological degree can feel a bit daunting. That is why we continue to host students on campus for either an Inside Perkins event or for an Individual Visit. Making a visit is an important step in your journey and we are excited to host you as you get a sense for what your future could be!
Inside Perkins
For a longer visit experience, we recommend an Inside Perkins event. Prospective students will have the opportunity to connect with staff, learn from faculty, hear from current students, and enjoy a tour of campus.
Faculty Lectures
Attending a lunch & lecture event allows students to use their lunch break to connect with admission staff and enjoy a meal, all while learning from a Perkins faculty member.
Individual Visit
We want to work with your schedule to ensure you have an opportunity to visit campus and have a day tailored to your interests
